Professional Headshots at Willow House Advisors: Celebrating People, Not Just Photos

Shooting team headshots in a 1730s farmhouse isn’t exactly a photographer’s dream. Low ceilings, cozy rooms, and tricky lighting made the space a challenge. But what truly stood out wasn’t the physical limitations—it was Willow House Advisors themselves, and the pride they take in their team.

When Willow House Advisors reached out, they weren’t just looking for photos. They wanted professional corporate headshots and team portraits that reflected the same care, professionalism, and attention to detail they bring to their clients every day.

Their office is a beautiful, historic farmhouse—the kind of space that looks stunning in photos. But as Nicole explained on our first call, outdoor photos had always been a struggle. Harsh sunlight, squinting faces, and windblown hair turned every attempt into a frustrating experience. Inside, the lighting was dim and uneven, and previous photographers hadn’t been able to capture the results they wanted.

Meanwhile, the team had grown quickly. Some portraits were outdated, some were snapped on iPhones, and the group photo no longer reflected who they had become. They needed a solution that would give each team member a professional headshot they could be proud of—photos that truly represented them.

That’s where I stepped in.

We mapped out the challenges: limited space, tricky lighting, and coordinating busy schedules. I shared my approach: treating headshot sessions as problem-solving opportunities, not just creative exercises. During the session, I work tethered to a computer so team members can see their photos in real time. They don’t leave guessing which image best represents them—they choose it on the spot. This method builds confidence and eliminates the back-and-forth of “which one should we pick?”

We also developed a long-term plan. The full team photo would be updated immediately, while new hires could come to my studio for matching professional headshots anytime. This approach ensures the team’s photos stay current, consistent, and aligned with their brand—without waiting a year or more for the next round of updates.

The Willow House Advisors team—professional, proud, and ready to show the world who they are.

By the time I left Willow House Advisors, it was clear that the real magic of this session wasn’t about overcoming lighting or space challenges. It was about the team’s commitment to representing their people well. Their investment in their staff made my job easy—and their portraits shine with authenticity because of it.

This session wasn’t about me as a photographer. It was about Willow House Advisors: a team that invests in people, celebrates individuality, and reflects that in every professional headshot and team photo.

They’re amazing, and I’m excited to help them show the world.
